DVC Genie was built by a DVC owner who got tired of confusing sales pitches and “DVC pays for itself” math that quietly ignores annual dues, financing interest, and the opportunity cost of a five-figure upfront payment. Every calculator, guide, and resort page here is written and maintained by The DVC Genie Team — DVC owners & cost analysts.

We are not a resale broker, a timeshare salesperson, or a Disney marketing channel. We do not earn anything when you buy DVC, so we have no reason to talk you into it.

How we stay independent

DVC Genie is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company or Disney Vacation Club. All resort names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. We receive no compensation from Disney or DVC, and our calculator will tell you notto buy when the numbers don't work.

How we make money

The site has a single affiliate relationship — a DVC points-rental partner — and that commission never changes our calculator results or which resorts we recommend. We explain exactly how it works on our affiliate disclosure page.

Where our numbers come from

Our estimates are built from public DVC annual-dues schedules, current resale-market listing prices, and Disney direct price sheets. We refresh these monthly. The exact formulas, assumptions, and default rates behind every estimate are documented on our methodology page — so you can check our work, not just trust it.

Editorial standards

• We show the math, including the costs most sales pitches leave out (dues inflation, financing interest, opportunity cost).
• We update prices and dues as the market moves and date our pages when we make a substantive change — not to fake freshness.
• We say when DVC is a bad idea. “It depends” is a real answer, and so is “don't buy.”
• Estimates are estimates. Always confirm current prices and dues with Disney or a licensed broker before you commit.
